It All Started When...

Autumn 2018

My mom was suffering from (censored) and she found that cannabis was helpful, but she didn’t like getting high. She started purchasing CBD products off the shelf at various grocery and health food stores, but she was having problems finding quality product at an affordable price. Certain products were able to help her significantly with (censored) and some (censored), but she was having difficulties finding a correlation between pricing and quality, and she was feeling a bit overwhelmed.

So she reached out to me to look into it some more. As a massage therapist family will often come to me with health-related questions, especially in the alternative medicine world. I’ve always been into herbalism, essential oils, and hands on therapy.

So I started doing some research, reaching out to some friends out west. I got put in touch with John and Candice Orlando at Rock n Roots Farm, and I started getting some product from them for my mom. She responded very well to it, better than any products that she had off the shelf, and she really appreciated that connection with the farmer.
I started telling my friends that I had CBD products available here in town. Pretty soon the demand got to be to the point where I was running around town after work, going to different parking lots, like Festival Foods, or downtown to get them CBD. One day, as I was sitting with six cars in line, I realized that I needed a place more professional to meet people, so it didn’t feel like a drug deal going down.

A friend of mine, Erin, at Tangled Up in Hue, offered to let me do a pop-up at her business. And that was the first time I was able to sit behind a counter and inform people about the benefits of family farm sourced CBD products. It really appealed to me to be able to work one on one with people and share that knowledge and turn them on to this product.

In the Spring of 2019, I looked at getting into Banbury. As luck would have it, there was a great spot available at a good location, on the ground level. Once I had my own place, I realized I needed more products, to fill up the store, and offer more options for people.

I added smokable flower, and I became a licensed processor through the Department of Agriculture I got into creating products and sourcing materials. John and Candace (Rock n Roots) put me in touch with some of their friends, a trusted network of farmers and extractors out in their area, which led me to creating my own oils sourced from small family farms.

I started doing farmers markets during the summer of 2019, which gave me a lot of face time, and a lot of one on one experience with customers, getting feedback from them about the products. As the market season was wrapping up, I was thinking about what I wanted to do. I knew that if I got the opportunity to talk to people, my business went really well. But the Banbury location didn’t have a lot of foot traffic.
In the Fall, my friend Erin informed me that she was consolidating her two businesses and asked me if I’d want to take over her lease on Barstow.

Today I’m excited to be offering premium full spectrum CBD and Hemp products in the heart of Eau Claire. Thank you for being part of this exciting journey!
